Welcome back!
We hope you all had a lovely break over the Easter period and you are ready to start the Summer term!
We will continue to revisit and consolidate our phonics knowledge. Please continue to practise any gaps we have identified at home and read as much as you can; remembering to sign the reading record.
We will be exploring equal, unequal, doubling and sharing in maths.
In writing we will be using the story "The Very Hungry Caterpillar to grow our vocabulary and inspire our writing. We may even have some visitors joining us this half term and watch some of our very own caterpillars transform before our very own eyes!
We will continue to visit the library on a Monday, please remember to bring in your library book if you would like to change it. Forest School will continue to take place every Monday afternoon. Bikeablity is beginning this term for 10 weeks and will be on a Wednesday morning. PE is on a Friday this term.
Monday and Wednesday- children will need to wear jogging bottoms and their school jumpers
Friday- Children to come to school in their PE Kit.
After chatting with some of you at Parent's evening, we thought it might be a good idea to pop a few links to some mathematics and phonics online games to use at home:

This half term PE is on Thursday. The children will need to come dressed in their PE kit.
ELS books are collected in on a Thursday and new books go home on a Friday along with a sound sheet with the 4 sounds covered that week.
The Curriculum
The EYFS recognises that children need to be able to use concrete experiences to provide the building blocks for their learning. Based on this, the learning ethos behind EYFS encourages a mix of play-based and adult led learning.
Here are some documents you might find useful to have a look at to help your understanding of the EYFS curriculum and how best to support your child in their first year at Badsey First School.
