Badsey First School became part of The GLA Trust on 1st September 2018. We were last inspected in July 2025.
We are very proud to have been judged as 'outstanding' in behaviour and attitudes, leadership and management and early years provision. We have been given a 'good' rating for our quality of education and personal development.

Badsey First School is a place where pupils arrive happily each morning. Children are greeted warmly by staff who know them well and who want the very best for them.
Pupils get off to an exceptional start in the early years.
Pupils’ behaviour is impeccable at all points of the day.
School provides a calm, nurturing and respectful environment that helps pupils to thrive.
Staff ensure that pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) access, learn and understand the same curriculum as their peers. Pupils work seamlessly together in classrooms where they are keen to learn and confident to share their knowledge.
Multiplication tables check attainment
All Year 4 pupils sit the Multiplication tables check, which assesses their knowledge of times tables with a series of 25 questions. Children are provided with 6 seconds to respond to each question.

Phonics screening check attainment
All pupils in Year 1 must sit the phonics screening check. This is an assessment of a child's ability to recognise and decode words phonetically and is made up of 40 words that are both real and made up.
Where a child hasn't met the pass grade, they are given the opportunity to re-sit the phonics screening check at the end of Year 2.
